Already, there is one electric bus in operation in Örebro. The bus alternates between routes 3 and 4. During 2025, more electric buses will start operating as city buses in Örebro. Once all the buses are delivered, there will be 23 electric buses running on Citylinjen, which corresponds to routes 1 and 2.

The electric buses are powered by rechargeable batteries. These batteries are located under the floor instead of on the roof, which allows the buses to run quietly and smoothly. The buses are also equipped with various comfort and safety features, such as cameras instead of mirrors and a wider central aisle.

Appearance of the electric buses

The electric buses will have two different designs. One design is for the buses operating on Citylinjen, and another for those running as regular city buses.

The electric bus currently in operation features a green stripe running from the front to the rear of the bus. Inside, the bus is bright, with grey handrails and poles, a wider central aisle, and purple seats. This design will be used for the electric buses on Citylinjen in the future.
