On December 15, 2024, we are launching Citylinjen. Routes 1 and 2 in Örebro’s city network will become Citylinjen:
Citylinjen offers high-frequency service, dedicated traffic lanes, centrally located stops, and priority at traffic signals. For you, this means the bus will travel faster, more frequently, and with better punctuality. In 2025, we will also introduce electric buses for Citylinjen.
Recognizing Citylinjen
Citylinjen has a unique design, both inside and out. You’ll recognize Citylinjen by its logo and green color. The logo and color will be visible on buses, stops, in journey planners, and on our website.
On December 15, Citylinjen will begin operations with 21 blue and white biogas buses and two green and white buses. The green and white buses have Citylinjen’s future design, with a focus on the green color.
The 21 blue and white buses will feature Citylinjen’s logo and several visible green accents. Examples of green accents include decals showing that you can board through any door on Citylinjen.
The reason we are starting with blue and white buses is due to a delayed delivery of the green and white buses. When we begin using electric buses on Citylinjen, they will have the green and white design.
Travelling with Citylinjen
Citylinjen will mostly operate in its own dedicated lanes. The lanes and stops are located in the middle of the road to minimize impact on other traffic. Regional buses and emergency vehicles will also use these lanes.
Citylinjen has a high frequency of service:
- 5-minute intervals between the stops Tegnérlunden and Universitetsplatsen on weekdays (Monday to Friday) during morning and afternoon peak hours.
- 10-minute intervals on weekdays (Monday to Friday) from outer areas.
You will be able to find your journey by searching in our journey planner, either on our website or in our app. You can easily recognize Citylinjen by its logo in the search results.
Citylinjen Stops
Citylinjen stops have a green design and digital countdown timers. The countdown timer shows how long until the bus arrives at the stop.
-
TicketsYou can use the same tickets on Citylinjen as for the rest of Örebro’s city bus network. If you have a ticket that is valid on Örebro’s city buses, you can also use it on Citylinjen.

Luggage onboard
By "luggage," we mean items you can carry on your own that fit by your seat or on the overhead shelf.
Your luggage must not:
- obstruct other passengers
- occupy seats
- block emergency exits
- obstruct the driver’s view
- interfere with the driver or otherwise affect onboard safety
- be unpleasant or disruptive to others
- be flammable or explosive
Larger suitcases and luggage can be brought on board if space permits and should be placed in the bus's luggage compartment.
As a passenger, you are responsible for your own luggage. Tip: Clearly label your luggage with your name, address, and phone number in case you forget it on the bus.
-
Pets onboard
You may bring a dog, cat, or other small pet free of charge. Your pet must not cause discomfort to fellow passengers and should be leashed or kept in a carrier for the entire journey.
As a passenger, you are responsible for your pet. If you are traveling with a furry animal, please follow the bus driver’s instructions on where you may sit.
Larger animals are not allowed on the bus.

Rules for everyone´s comfort
To make the bus ride enjoyable for everyone, we kindly request that you keep the following in mind:
Signal clearly to the driver so that she or he can see that you want to get on. Ideally, you should wear reflectors when it is dark. If you do not have a reflector, please get in touch with our customer service, and we will send one to you.
When two buses arrive at a bus stop at the same time, the second bus will not stop and passengers must board the first bus. If three buses arrive at a bus stop, the third bus will wait until the first two have driven off before driving up to the bus stop to allow passengers to board.
Please move further back in the bus. When there are a large number of passengers on the bus, it is important to show extra consideration, especially for those who are getting on and off. There is often more space at the back of the bus, and we recommend that when boarding you to sit or stand as far back in the bus as possible.
Strong fragrance – (such as perfume) can trigger asthma. Please avoid when travelling with us.
Eating on the bus – For the comfort of others you must not eat on the bus or:
- drink alcohol or smoke
- bring explosive items on board
- ride roller-skates, inlines or a skateboard
- put your feet on the seats or other fittings
Anyone who is intoxicated may not be allowed to travel or may be asked to leave the bus. The same goes for those who are considered to be causing discomfort to fellow passengers.
-
Strollers and seatbelts
Strollers share the same space on the bus as walkers and wheelchairs. Therefore, you may bring a stroller if there is space available. No category has priority over another. The bus driver will determine how many strollers can fit on the bus without compromising safety.
You must not place a stroller in a way that obstructs other passengers or blocks an emergency exit.
As the passenger traveling with a stroller, you are responsible for the stroller and its safety. You should secure and lock the stroller with the brakes during the journey. Do not leave the child in the stroller while traveling.
Seatbelts on the Bus
City buses are not equipped with seatbelts.
-
Wheelchairs and walkers
Wheelchairs and walkers share the same space on the bus as strollers. Therefore, they can be brought on board if there is space available. No category has priority over another. The bus driver will determine how many wheelchairs and walkers can be accommodated without compromising safety.
You must not place a wheelchair or walker in a way that obstructs other passengers or blocks emergency exits.
As the passenger traveling with a wheelchair or walker, you are responsible for its safety. The wheelchair should be secured with the brakes. During the journey, passengers may remain seated in their wheelchairs.
Allowed wheelchairs onboard
We accept manual and electric wheelchairs with the following maximum dimensions according to the recommendations of Swedish Public Transport:
- Total Length: 1,200 mm
- Total Width (measured at the widest point): 700 mm
- Weight: 300 kg (wheelchair + passenger)
Three-wheeled electric wheelchairs with handlebars (electric scooters) cannot be brought on board, as they are considered unstable vehicles.
During the journey, you may remain in your wheelchair. The wheelchair should be placed in the designated area and secured with the brakes. Buses are equipped with fastening devices for wheelchairs, which you should use. On buses with special backrests, the wheelchair should be facing backward in the direction of travel. When there are devices available to secure wheelchairs, walkers, or other assistive devices, you should use them.
-
Bicycles and electric scooters
You may bring a foldable bicycle or electric bicycle on board. However, it is not permitted to bring a conventional two-wheeled bicycle, non-foldable bicycle, scooter, or electric scooter.
You can take your electric scooter on all our buses, but there are some things you need to keep in mind:
- The electric scooter must not exceed 120 centimeters when folded.
- You should be able to manage it on and off the bus by yourself.
- The electric scooter may be placed on the floor in front of you, but not in a way that obstructs the aisle.
- If you are seated at the back, you may also place the electric scooter on the floor behind your feet.
The electric scooter must not be left loose on the floor or stick out from your seating area. For your own safety, you must not stand on the electric scooter while the bus is in motion.
-
Bike garage and bike parking
It is often convenient to ride your bike to the nearest bus stop. To make this easier, there are various types of bike parking and garages available near the stops.
There are bike racks at most of our larger stops. Additionally, a bike garage is available at Örebro Resecentrum, where you can securely park and store your bicycle at a reasonable price.
-
Accessibility onboard
Most buses are designed to be accessible for passengers with disabilities. They include the following features:
- Designated Spaces: There are marked seats on the bus for passengers with disabilities.
- Onboard Announcements: The buses provide stop announcements for visually impaired passengers.
The buses have a low entrance and can kneel, allowing the entrance to align with the height of the sidewalk. This makes it easier to board with wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers.
The bus driver is available to assist you when boarding and alighting. The driver can also help you with payment if needed.
