What you can buy on board depends on which of our buses you want to travel with.
We would like you to, if possible, pre-sell your ticket or recharge your Travel card before boarding the bus. This is to reduce the time it takes for the bus at each stop and thus minimize the risk of delays.

Load Travel credit on board the bus
You can load Travel credit onto a Travel card with the driver on all our regional and express buses. You can also load Travel credit onto a Travel card when travelling on a city bus in Lindesberg.
The minimum amount to load is 200 SEK, and you need to have a Travel card with you. The maximum amount you can load per Travel card is 2,000 SEK.
Information about the Travel card
You can then use the Travel credit to purchase single tickets or a 24-hour ticket on board the bus. Travel credit can also be used as part payment if you want to buy a season ticket at a later time.
It is not possible to load Travel credit on board city buses in Karlskoga and Örebro or on Citylinjen in Örebro.

On board a bus with Travel credit
Pre-purchasing single tickets or using travel credit is always cheaper than buying tickets on board with a payment card.
You can use Travel credit in several ways onboard. You can:
- Buy single tickets from the driver on all our city, regional, and express buses.
- Buy single tickets and 24-hour tickets via the ticket readers inside city buses in Örebro and Citylinjen.
- Partially pay for a 24-hour, 30-day, or 30-day Off-peak ticket on a city bus in Lindesberg and all our regional and express buses.
If you're travelling with a Travel card dedicated to a company, you should purchase tickets in the same way as with Travel credit.
Keep the Travel card you used to purchase the ticket throughout your journey, as you may need to show it during a ticket inspection.
On a city bus in Örebro or Citylinjen
You can buy a ticket either from the driver or using the ticket readers inside the bus. On Citylinjen, you can board through any door, and there is a ticket machine at each door. They look like the one in the picture below.
In these ticket readers, you can buy single tickets and 24-hour tickets.
How to buy a ticket with travel credit at the ticket machine:
- Tap the price category you want to buy or select 24-hour ticket.
- Price categories: ungdom (7–19 years), Senior (70+), Vuxen (20+), or Family.
- Hold your travel card against the ticket reader for about 5 seconds.
- A green light and a happy face indicate that the purchase was successful, and you can now travel with your ticket.
- A red light and a sad face mean the purchase was unsuccessful. Check your travel credit balance or contact our customer service.
You can buy single tickets with Travel credit from the driver. Inform the driver about the ticket type and price group you wish to purchase. The driver will assist you with the purchase using their ticket machine, and payment will be deducted from your travel credit.

You can buy single tickets from the driver on all city buses in Karlskoga. Inform the driver about the type of ticket and price group you want to purchase. The driver will help you buy a ticket using their ticket machine, and you will pay with the travel credit on your travel card.

On a citybus in Lindesberg, regional or express bus
If you wish to buy a single ticket with Travel credit on a city bus in Lindesberg, regional or express bus, you will need assistance from the driver. Inform the driver about the ticket and price group you want, and they will help you complete the purchase using their ticket machine.
You can also use Travel credit to partially pay for a 24-hour, 30-day, or 30-day Off-peak ticket from the driver onboard the bus. Inform the driver that you want to purchase a ticket and specify the price group, and the driver will help you complete the purchase using their ticket machine.

On board a bus with a payment card
You can purchase single tickets with a payment card on board city, regional, and express buses. You can also purchase single tickets with a payment card on board Närtrafik.
You can purchase a ticket for 24 hours, 30 days or a 30-day low-price ticket with a payment card from the driver if you are travelling on a city bus in Lindesberg, a regional bus, or an express bus.
If you wish to buy a ticket with a payment card, you will need to ask the driver for assistance. Inform the driver that you want to buy a single ticket and specify the fare group you wish, and they will help you complete the purchase at their ticket machine.

Ticket machine on the platform for train travel
In the yellow ticket machines on the platform, you can purchase single tickets and 24-hour tickets for train travel using our Travel credit as payment. Follow the instructions on the ticket machine.
Always show your Travel card with a valid ticket to the staff on board the train.

It is not possible to purchase our tickets onboard the train. You must have purchased your ticket before boarding the train.
