Terms of purchase for the Annual ticket

Terms and conditions for the Annual ticket (autogiro) from Länstrafiken Örebro (LTÖ)

Valid from 1 May 2011.

1. Purpose and application of the terms and conditions

These regulations apply to LTÖ’s Annual ticket when bought with direct debit payments from a bank account and govern the issues that may arise between LTÖ and its customers regarding the payment and ticket. Direct debit payments (autogiro) refer to a continuous agreement between LTÖ and customer regarding the payment.

2. Autogiro – direct debit payment

Direct debit payment (autogiro) is an option for people who are registered in Sweden. Direct debit payment (autogiro) is taken out by filling out the application form "Medgivande till betalning genom autogiro privat”. By filling out the form, the customer gets registered in the LTÖ customer register. For customers under the age of 18, the legal guardian’s signature is required. LTÖ processes all personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Act. By applying for direct debit payment (autogiro) you agree that LTÖ saves the data including your personal identification number in the LTÖ customer register and uses these to administer the annual ticket.

An autogiro customer can block lost or replace broken cards. Direct debit payment (autogiro) applies from the selected start month. The Autogiro starts the first of each month and the order must be sent to LTÖ no later than the 15th of the month before the annual ticket will begin to apply. The customer pays the monthly price at the time of the contract for the first 10 months and then travels free in months 11 and 12.

An autogiro customer undertakes to inform LTÖ immediately of any change of name or address. Change of bank account must be notified by the customer to the bank. An autogiro customer can change the geographical scope of the card without a special charge or switch from one ticket type to another. Such a change may occur once during the 12-month period of the agreement and shall be available at the latest on the 15th of the month before it enters into force. The current price of the newly selected product at the time of the change is valid for the remaining months of the 12-month period. LTÖ reserves the right to change administration fees. LTÖ reserves the right to change these conditions to a reasonable extent.

3. Payment

The customer pays monthly in advance by an automatic transfer from the customer’s bank account. Payment is made on the last banking day of each month and the ticket is valid from the first day of the following month.

If the account balance is insufficient for payment on the last banking day of the month, additional withdrawal attempts shall be made in the coming weekdays that may not exceed one week. Thereafter, a reminder will be sent with invoice on the current amount plus an additional fee of SEK 50 to the customer. If this invoice is not paid within the time limit, LTÖ will block the Annual ticket and the matter will proceed to debt collection. If the matter has gone on to debt collection, a new application can be made only after two years.

4. Lost Ticket Guarantee

An autogiro customer has a Lost Ticket Guarantee. If the customer loses his or her card, LTÖ must be contacted as soon as possible. The lost card is blocked and LTÖ sends a new card to the customer.

5. Unsubscribe

An autogiro customer may at any time, without giving a special reason, cancel his-/-her subscription. The autogiro will end the month immediately after the customer has applied for cancellation of the Annual ticket. A customer wishing to end the Annual ticket must notify LTÖ by letter before the 15th of the month before. The Annual ticket will then be locked from the first of the following month. In doing so, the opportunity to get two months free of charge is forfeited.

In order to become an autogiro customer again and get a new Annual ticket, a new order must be placed. Customers cannot stop or freeze the Annual ticket.

LTÖ has the right to cancel the autogiro if:

  • The transfer from the customer’s account to LTÖ via direct debit payment is not accepted or permitted, whether on a case-by-case basis or generally.
  • Payment of the current amount on the due date is not transferred to LTÖ via the direct debit payment and this is not due to circumstances on LTÖ’s side.
  • The customer violates LTÖ’s terms of purchase.

6. Other

By signing an autogiro, the customer allows:

The information provided on the application form to be entered in a register established for LTÖ (consent pursuant to section 12 of the Personal Data Act). The customer may at any time revoke consent for the use of personal data for marketing purposes (advertising barrier).

If you have registered your Travelcard, you can have the contents of the blocked card transferred to a replacement card within three to five days of blocking the card number and contacting Customer Service. Remember that the activated period’s validity continues and does not pause while the card is blocked. The new card is sent to the address you gave when you registered the card. While you wait for your replacement card, you have to pay for your journeys another way. Subject to agreement, you can also collect the replacement card from Customer Service. You must bring photo ID when you collect the card. If instead you buy a new Travelcard to travel with in the meantime, we can transfer the contents of the blocked card to the new card instead of producing another new card.

The Lost Ticket Guarantee does not cover non-registered Travelcards.

12. Complaints

Technical faults do sometimes arise or your Travelcard could stop working during its period of validity for some other reason. If your product does not work during its period of validity you can of course replace it free of charge. The easiest way of doing this is to visit our Customer Service and we will replace your card there.

In the event of a dispute, we follow the decisions of Sweden’s National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN).

13. Errors making a purchase in the web shop

If you bought the wrong type of ticket in our web shop by mistake, Customer Service can help.

14. Right of withdrawal

Statutory right of withdrawal, under Sweden’s Distance Sales and Door-to-Door Sales Act (2005:59), does not apply to agreements concerning transport, which is why purchases of Länstrafiken’s tickets through our web shop are not covered by right of withdrawal. However, we choose to apply right of withdrawal in accordance with the Distance Sales and Door-to-Door Sales Act.

When you make purchases in the web shop, the Distance Sales and Door-to-Door Sales Act gives you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days when you buy in Sweden. One condition for the right of withdrawal and for replacements is that you have not used the ticket or the travel credit you loaded.

If you wish to apply the right of withdrawal, contact Customer Service – Länstrafiken Örebro using the contact information on this website. Customer refunds regarding the right of withdrawal are made 30 days after Länstrafiken receives the request.

15. Misuse

Länstrafiken Örebro may block a person from using this service if the service is misused.

App – nice and simple

You can buy single tickets in our app. If you choose to buy your single ticket via the app, you get a discount compared with buying a single ticket on board the bus by bank card. More about buying single tickets in the app can be found under “Our tickets”.

Purchase a ticket using the app

There are two ways you can purchase single tickets using the app:

  1. Purchase a ticket directly via the start menu
  2. Purchase a ticket by searching for a journey

Click on the 3-line icon in the top left-hand corner right of your mobile display. There you can select the alternative that is best for you.

The picture shows the start menu in our app

Alternative 1: Purchase a ticket directly via the start menu

You can select this alternative if you intend to travel within Hallsberg, Karlskoga, Kumla, Lindesberg or the city of Örebro. Proceed as follows:

  • Click on Buy ticket in the start menu
  • Select an area
  • Select a fare category: Vuxen (adult), Skolungdom (Yong person) or Familj (Family)
  • Select Buy ticket

  • Select your desired method of payment by following the instructions on the app

Is the area you wish to travel in not listed? In that case, go to Journey planner for alternative 2.

Alternative 2: Purchase a ticket by searching for a journey

You can select this alternative if you intend to travel by regional bus within the county of Örebro, but also within Hallsberg, Karlskoga, Kumla, Lindesberg or the city of Örebro. Proceed as follows:

  • Click on Search and buy journey in the start menu
  • Select where you want to travel from and to

Remember that the validity period for a single ticket bought using the app begins immediately after you purchase the ticket, regardless of the purchase method you have selected. For a city bus, the validity period is three hours from the time of purchase. For a regional bus, it is valid only for the selected departure. You can purchase your ticket no earlier than 20 minutes before departure.

Region Örebro County is referred to as “Länstrafiken” in the terms and conditions.

2. Confirmation

By using and/or registering a payment method in the app, you accept Länstrafiken’s user and purchase terms and conditions and you consent to the registration of personal data about you that are necessary for the service. When you buy tickets a binding agreement is formed between you and Länstrafiken. When your order is received, you are automatically sent confirmation in the form of a ticket which also serves as a travel pass for the journey. Länstrafiken reserves the right to refuse delivery of the ticket if the purchase infringes these user and purchase terms and conditions.

3. The customer’s responsibility

You are responsible for any service fees that the telecommunications operator charges for sending or receiving data and/or SMS when registering and using Länstrafiken’s app and when buying tickets.

The tickets are not personal, but they are connected to the customer’s app.

It is recommended that you set a password for your mobile phone to protect tickets and information stored on your phone.

If you lose the mobile phone with the number registered in Länstrafiken’s app for buying tickets, you are responsible for notifying the relevant payment service of the loss so that your chosen means of payment is blocked. If you have chosen to pay by invoice, contact Klarna; if you have chosen to pay by card, contact your bank.

4. Länstrafiken’s responsibility

Länstrafiken’s commitment regarding this Agreement is restricted to providing an opportunity for you to use the app and its ticket options on the terms stated in these user and purchase terms and conditions.

Länstrafiken is not responsible for errors or delays that are directly or indirectly a consequence of causes or circumstances beyond Länstrafiken’s immediate control, other than those covered by Länstrafiken’s travel guarantee rules. Länstrafiken is not responsible for dealings between you and third parties that take place with the assistance of or as a result of your use of the app and ticket.

Länstrafiken provides no guarantee that you can always use the app. However, Länstrafiken intends to remedy any technical problems, data errors, price errors or other problems in the service that Länstrafiken is made aware of.

Länstrafiken provides the app and ticket service at no cost to you. You cannot, therefore, assert other claims or consequences against Länstrafiken other than those expressly stated in these user and purchase terms and conditions.

Länstrafiken may hire subcontractors. They may for instance be hired for services relating to administration of the technical platform where registration takes place, administration of credit rating checks and blocks, invoicing and customer service. Länstrafiken’s obligations towards you may be transferred.

5. Prices

Länstrafiken’s prices are stated including VAT. See Länstrafiken’s website for current prices.

6. Registering information for automatic debiting

In order to be able to buy a ticket, you have to register and choose a payment method. You can register either before you buy a ticket or when you buy a ticket. Registration is carried out directly in the app.

Once you are registered and approved, you can also buy tickets and pay by invoice and/or card from certain other public transport companies without registering again. The public transport companies concerned may vary. For further information, go to infospread.se.

Option 1: Paying by invoice

The invoice will be sent to the person whose phone number is given during registration. Invoices are sent monthly. No fee is charged for paying by invoice provided the full monthly sum is paid to the relevant payment service by the due date. If no purchases are made during a particular month, no invoice will be issued. For further information, see Klarna’s terms and conditions (link available in app).

Option 2: Pay by VISA/MasterCard/Maestro

VISA, Maestro and MasterCard are permitted payment cards. When registering by card you must provide the card number, expiry date and CVV/CVC code. When paying for tickets by card, a card transaction is automatically generated that equates to the cost of your ticket. All you have to provide for repeat purchases is the CVV/CVC code. When buying from more than one public transport company, the card is charged in the same way as for purchases from Länstrafiken.

7. Credit check

Klarna may carry out a check of your ability to pay when you as a customer register ‘invoice’ as your payment method to order and pay for tickets. For further information, see Klarna’s terms and conditions (link available in app).

8. Right of withdrawal

Statutory right of withdrawal, under Sweden’s Distance Sales and Door-to-Door Sales Act (2005:59), does not apply to agreements concerning transport, which is why purchases of single tickets are not covered by right of withdrawal.

Further information on refunds can be found on Länstrafiken’s website.

9. Misuse and blocking of services

Länstrafiken reserves the right to block services fully or partially without prior notice if unauthorised use or misuse of the service is suspected or if Länstrafiken deems it justified based on technical, security or other reasons in order to protect Länstrafiken’s, the customer’s or other parties’ interests.

Misuse includes all types of fraud, false purchases or falsely entered data. Misuse is reported to the police authorities without exception.

The service may also be blocked if you do not pay your invoices on time.

User data may be generated through your use of the app and ticket service, such as login information, travel history and payment history. These data are necessary to enable you to make purchases and receive personal services, for example.

Buying tickets on board the bus by bank card

If possible we prefer that you buy your ticket or load your Travelcard (Resekort) before getting on the bus. This reduces the time the bus has to stop at each bus stop and therefore minimises the risk of delays.

You can load Travel credit (reskassa) or buy season tickets (periodbiljetter) and single tickets (enkelbiljetter) on board the bus. If you buy a single ticket on board the bus using a bank card, you pay the on-board fare which is higher than the fare you pay when you buy a ticket in the app or from a sales agent.

Our buses are cash free, which means all purchases on board the bus must be paid for by bank card.

On the city buses in Örebro you can use a gift card from City Örebro to pay for a single journey. Use it in the same way as a regular bank card and pay at the card terminal on board. Interested in finding out more about the gift card? Further information is available from the City Örebro website

Travelling by train – use the validator on the platform

If you are travelling by train using a season ticket, you must touch in with your ticket at one of the yellow platform validators at the station.

You can also buy single train tickets from the validators on the platform if you pay using our Travel credit (reskassa). Follow the instructions on the validator.

Always show your Travelcard and valid ticket to staff on board the train.
