School card

What is a School Card?

A School Card (Skolkort) is a travel pass that is valid for travelling to and from school. If you are entitled to a School Card, you will receive it either via your school or sent by post.

There are two types of School Card:

  • School Card Junior - Grundskolekort
  • School Card Senior - Gymnasiekort

The School Card is loaded with a ticket that is valid for the whole academic year in a specific geographical area. No other tickets or travel credit can be loaded onto a School Card. If you travel outside of school hours there are several ticket options. If you are unsure which ticket is best for you, we recommend taking a look at our Ticket guide which can be found on the Ticket and Purchase page.

Each School Card is accompanied by a Validity Certificate (Gilt

The Validity Certificate must be accurately completed in full with:

  • personal details
  • the school attended
  • the 13-digit card number of the School Card Junior/Senior.

If a Validity Certificate gets lost or damaged, you must contact the school office or municipality that distributed the Validity Certificate at the beginning of the academic year.

Any questions about your School Card and travelling to and from school?
